Video games are played by adults and children all over. While playing these video games, you might wonder how they make it so engaging and realistic.
Plenty of work is put into making these video games an enjoyable experience for almost all ages. People also focus on the replayability of certain video games. A smart way to get more people to play their games.
The Red Dead Redemption series dates back to May 18th, 2010. This series, by Rockstar, was inspired by the former game Red Dead Revolver, available on PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
The game had mechanics similar to those of the more modern Red Dead games out right now. Some of these mechanics were called, ‘dead-eye.’ This mechanic is seen in Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Behind the scenes of Red Dead Redemption 2 was lots of work. Approximately 1,600 people worked on the game over several years. The development budget was around $170 and $240 million. So, it’s clear plenty of work was put into this game.
This is what Iselin Middle School student Nikolas M. thought about Red Dead Redemption 2.
“It’s obvious that Rockstar put lots of effort into the game. If you ever played it, you’d see,” Nikolas M said.
The game’s characters and ‘NPC’ have realistic, almost human-like movements. Multiple face cameras, track every moment the actor makes. Then they import this into the game, which gives the characters realistic movement. Around 70 cameras were used to capture body movements.
“I bought Red Dead Redemption 2 because I liked the Wild West genre and the realistic gameplay,” Nikolas M said.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s voice actors look like the game’s characters. For example, Roger Clark plays and voices the main protagonist, Arthur Morgan. You can see the similarity. The same goes for the many other characters in the game.
“Finding this character appealing and engaging, despite the glaring flaws, was no easy task,” Roger Clark said.
While playing Red Dead Redemption 2, players have noticed that the game takes place in a fictionalized version of the United States. Throughout the game, there are five fictional states. These states are New Hanover, Ambarino, Lemoyne, West Elizabeth, and New Austin. Just outside the map, you can also get a glimpse of Mexico.
The Red Dead Redemption series is a masterpiece of realism and engagement, played by many people worldwide.
