If you want to get a 100 on the Pacer Test, this year the grading system is now harder. was raised all way to 40, and Mr. McGary shares his opinion on the change and whether he wants it gone or not.
“It makes it a bit more difficult for the students, but it gives a good representation of how students are fit,” McGary said.
What about the students who fail to reach 40s, or even fail the Pacer Test?
“There are other opportunities to get great grades, like on the sit-up test or the push-up test,” McGary says.
Mr. McGary talked about if he wants the new system.
“I think all the P.E. teachers would agree on one solution,” McGary said. “We’ll see what the students do with the grading.”
Mr. McGary talked about what to do if you fail the Pacer Test.
“I think students should practice at home and run more during fitness time,” McGary said. “Practice always makes you better.”
This was the system before; however, they got a easier system but this year, the harder grading system returned. About the students who achieve good scores, some students can try harder, but others will not.
He does not have an opinion on the new grading system, as the year has just begun. However, he likes that the new system is challenging, as the previous system was far easier, requiring only a 14 on the Pacer Test in order to get a perfect score.
