Mr. Ricci is an 8th grade language arts teacher at IMS, short for Iselin Middle School. He teaches it for the whole school day not including the electives, which are period 2 and period 4.
He teaches language arts and then gives IXL for homework which is due at the end of the week on Fridays.
He has been teaching reading for 12 years and started to teach language arts in 2013. Also that Mr.Ricci only teaches 8th grade language arts and has other jobs to do other than language arts.
He became a language arts teacher because he enjoyed it a lot in school more than accounting and he had a lot of good teachers that inspired him to do what he is doing now.
Before he became a language arts teacher, Mr.Ricci wanted to become an accountant but it sounded boring to him so he became a reading teacher.
“Accounting sounded interesting to me and that I can learn about money and how it works, but then it became boring to me. I enjoyed language arts more than accounting in school. I had a lot of good teachers and (I like) to be in a classroom so that kids can enjoy it,” Mr.Ricci said.
It is hard for him to be a reading teacher because it requires the teacher to keep students from doing things they are not supposed to do and behave correctly.
Also that sometimes the students in his class care less about the assignment that he posts and doesn’t do them but sometimes cares more about it then the students do.
Mr. Ricci had to do things before he became a language arts teacher. He had to get good grades to pass elementary, middle, high school and college and tests to eventually become a language arts teacher.
Mr. Ricci has read over thousands of books in his lifetime.
