  • IMS will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair on December 3rd, 4th, and 5th in the 600 wing. Students will go to the book fair with their language arts class on their scheduled day.
  • The Debate Club interest meeting scheduled for today (11/19) has been canceled. The meeting will instead take place after school on Thursday.
  • Community Council is hosting a pizza party on Wednesday, November 27 during period 6. This event is only open to the first 100 students - so bring in your permission slip and $7 ASAP to secure your spot! See the IMS website for more information.
  • On Friday 11/22, photographers will be here for anyone that was not here for the first IMS picture day and anyone that wants to have their pictures retaken. If you want your pictures retaken you must bring the original photos in with you on Friday.
  • The Chemistry Club will be meeting after school tomorrow (11/19) in Room 410. Please see the Chemistry Club Google Classroom if you have not already done so.
  • It’s trivia time! Today we celebrate the birthday of which famous Disney character? The correct answer is Mickey Mouse! Test your knowledge at the Trivia Challenge Club meeting tomorrow 11/19 after school in Room 417.
  • Interested in the law? Want to learn about the court system? Have a desire to perform a trial? Come out to the Mock Trial Club interest meeting on Tuesday, November 19th after school in Room 122.
  • Attention Community Council Members! Please check the Google Classroom for information about a meeting next week.
  • IMS will be accepting donations for the SEWA Diwali Food Drive! All donations will go to local food pantries. For a list of items you can donate, check out the box located in the main lobby of the school or in your grade-level Google classroom!
  • There will be a Chess club interest meeting on Wednesday 11/20 after school in Room 117. Please see Mr. McGann with any questions.

Abigail Hylton, Reporter

Abigail Hylton is a 7th grade student at IMS. She is currently enrolled in a program called Gifted and Talented (G&T), a unique program for gifted students. She is an alumnus of the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted (PEG), which is an advanced level of the (G&T)  program. She lives with her parents and brother, Levi,  in Woodbridge, NJ. She was born in Queens, New York, and lived there for about 3 years before moving to NJ with her family. 

One sport that Hylton loves is called Jiu Jitsu. She practices 5 days a week at Velez Jiu Jitsu, her local gym. She practices with her brother and teammates and competes often. Other things that Hylton loves are dancing ballet and playing the piano. In her free time, she loves writing, reading, roller coasters, baking, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
