Victoria Torres

Victoria Torres, Reporter

Victoria Torres is a 11 year old girl that enjoys doing Jiu Jitsu. Torres grew up with 3 older sisters and a 5 year old brother. She also grew up with 3 older cousins that are like my older brothers. She doesn’t live with all of her siblings because her parents divorced in 2016 when she was only 2 years old. Torres spent the first 3 years of her life in Asbury Park down the street from the boardwalk but moved to Elizabeth in 2017. Then she had to move again the following year to Woodbridge, where she currently lives now.

In her free time when she isn’t doing anything, she likes to train with her cousin or be on the Jiu Jitsu mats. She really enjoys coaching the younger kids as well. She’s been training for 2 years. She’s been wanting to compete for the past year but her parents won’t let her. They think she doesn’t have the confidence to do so.

When Torres isn’t on the mats she likes to hang out with her friends. They go to the JFK football games and sometimes even Merrill or the IMS park. She likes to listen to the song writer Lil Peep. She likes to blast music and sing at the top of her lungs even if out in public. Her and her friend group always go out together as a whole. So, if you ever see one of them, it is likely that about another two people are around. None of them ever hang out as a duo. And, if that’s the case it is very very rare that that happens.
