People in Mrs. DiLonardo’s class must have heard the term EGP(Evil Genius Plan). Mrs. DiLonardo must have an EGP herself. She has been interviewed recently regarding her EGP on Oct 18, 2024.
“My main goal as a teacher, especially in eighth grade, is to inspire my students, get them to love reading and writing, get them to improve in their skills, and be ready for high school,” Mrs. DiLonardo said.
Maybe this could be her EGP. High school preperation for her students is what Dilonardo is trying to achieve. DiLonardo’s mother teaching 41 years at JFK High school is what her inspiration to be a teacher is.
Her life as a student was working hard in honors classes and achieving the number one valedictorian when she graduated in Colonia High school class of 2004.
Her mascots, trademarks for reading and writing (DSL WC, and EXP), and her humor is what makes DiLonardo’s teaching methods more unique compared to other teachers.
The EGP for her class which is what is said to be her ultimate trademark every year.
“Even though I am known as a tuff, strict teacher, I like to insert some humor like my corny jokes and puns throughout the year and get to know my students to see my funny side but also my strict rigorous structure and organization,” Mrs DiLonardo said.
Mrs. DiLonardo calls herself a perfectionist. That explains why she does not assign work with vague instructions. She wants the students to finish assignments in the perfect template told for them to write in.
IMS has been really positive for DiLonardo. She had some ups and downs but then she adapted to it. This has been the only school she has went to and she loves teaching here.
