On October 4th, the JFK football team, better known as John F Kennedy suffered a loss. The end score was a devastating 30-7. As it was, the team wasn’t doing as good as previous games.
JFK Football Coaches John Joyce and Patrick McGann explained what happened in the game. One of the things they mentioned was important was making the players work together as a team. It was also mentioned that the week of October 4th was an off week due to the fact that some of the players were out.
Joyce explained how they improved from October 4th to October 11th and stated that they came together as a team and overall played better. McGann also stated that the team had improved overall and that they had better tackling, alignment, assignment, offense, and running.
On the October 4th game the things that went wrong for the JFK football team was that they could not run the ball, had some players that were hurt and out that week, and couldn’t put up points on the board. The bright side to the game was that they could pass the ball and get completions.
Joyce’s favorite part about coaching he said that it was helping the players get better and also helping them improve in the game of football. He has a passion to help players succeed and help them improve in the sport.
McGann’s favorite part about coaching is building relationships with the players. He believes that the stronger the relationship is with the coach, the easier it is to teach players and help them grow. He also has a passion for helping players grow.
Joyce’s best advice for the team is to learn from the people who are older than you and more experienced. Let your coaches coach you up if you need it and learn. That is his best advice for football players.
McGann’s best advice is that football can be very hard, and you need to keep pushing yourself.
“If you think you’re working hard, work harder. You will never look back and say that you worked too hard. You want to be able to lay your head on the pillow at night and have no regrets,” McGann said.
The other team made things difficult for JFK. That made it hard for JFK to execute in the game.
“They were playing with a lot of guys in different positions and getting yards downfield, then scoring points,” Joyce said. He told me he can also help his players adjust to that.
McGann, when asked what the other team did well on October 4th, and what the team could learn from them, he said that “The team had a very high motor and they fought until the end. They kept pushing our team until the end.”
