Panther Press: Good Morning, we are the panther press, we make articles for Iselin Middle School and would like to interview you for a few questions.
Mr. Vasquez: Cool.
Panther Press: First of all, what subject do you teach?
Mr. Vasquez: I teach Instrumental Music.
Panther Press: Do you like to teach this subject?
Mr. Vasquez: Yes, I like to teach this subject.
Panther Press: Why do you like this subject?
Mr. Vasquez: I think that it is a great way to teach students about being responsible, being on time, being part of a team, and putting on a public performance.
Panther Press: Where do you teach in Iselin Middle School?
Mr. Vasquez: In the band room, which is room 606.
Panther Press: When is the next band concert?
Mr. Vasquez: The last band concert of the year is going to be on June 2nd.
Panther Press: Do you think it will do good?
Mr. Vasquez: I think the band that I’m most worried about is the 6th grade band because they are 6th graders, and we actually used to have two quarters of band last year but this year we only had one. But our wind ensemble and jazz band will have the best concert of their life.
Panther Press: What grade do you think is the most behaved as of right now?
Mr. Vasquez: 8th grade, BARELY.
Panther Press: Do you think your 8th grade students will miss you?
Mr. Vasquez: Yes, absolutely. And I will also be missing them.
Panther Press: Why will you miss your 8th grade students?
Mr. Vasquez: Because we had great times together, and they are the reasons those great times happen.
Panther Press: What do you do that makes the band students feel comfortable around you?
Mr. Vasquez: I try to let them know that it’s okay to be themselves and okay to make mistakes as long as you work hard and try to fix it.
Panther Press: Students have seen your door, and it says, “DON’T TOUCH MY DOOR.” Why
don’t you want anybody to touch your door?
Mr. Vasquez: So at the end of the period, I don’t like it when students rush out. I try to be the first one to greet them on the way out.
Panther Press: Ok, Thanks for your time Mr. Vasquez.
Mr. Vasquez: You got it!
