The Panther Shack finally opened a few weeks ago. Today I will be interviewing Mrs. Cilento about how she feels about it and more!
Panther Press: Mrs. Cilento, The Panther Shack finally opened a few weeks ago, how do you feel about the shack so far?
Mrs. Cilento: It’s so exciting to see students excited about it being open!
Press: How do you think the students feel about it?
Mrs. Cilento: Based on the sales I definitely think they enjoy it.
Press: Are you the only one running the shack?
Mrs. Cilento: PTO actually runs it.
Press: Do you think it will last long with how the students are treating it?
Mrs. Cilento: So far yeah.
Press: What’s the reason The Panther Shack was created? To raise money, student enjoyment, etc.?
Mrs. Cilento: A little bit of both, it was started before I was even in the school, and it was done pretty much the same. We sold school supplies, or apparel, and candy. Over time it’s gravitated to just being things students like. That seems to be just the most interesting thing for students; and really it is for the purpose of raising funds to pay for all the things we do for you guys.
Press: Were you the one to think of The Panther Shack or was it someone else?
Mrs. Cilento: No, I don’t even know who originally started The Panther Shack because it was pretty much there before I even started here and I’ve been here for a very long time.
Press: So what type of snacks are there?
Mrs. Cilento: A lot of things are sold including some school supplies, locker mirrors, magnetic locker organizers, earbuds, pens and pencils, and more.
Press: What snacks do students get the most?
Mrs. Cilento: Hmm, that’s a tough one. I don’t know everything. It’s equal, we have to keep replacing everything.
Press: Do all grade levels have The Panther Shack or is it just 6th?
Mrs. Cilento: Yes, it’s all grade levels.
Press: Up until now what grade has been the best with The Shack during their lunch period. Why is that?
Mrs. Cilento: I guess 8th grade since they understand the rules for it. Meaning waiting until after your table to be called then to come and make a purchase, but they’ve been around the longest so they’re used to it
Press: Is there anything else you would like to add?
Mrs. Cilento: Nope!
Press: Well that was the interview thank you!
Mrs. Cilento: You’re welcome!
