Artemis ll was a 9 day mission where 4 astronauts named Reid Wiseman,Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen did a flight around the moon. It was a historic moment after returning to the moon more than 50 years after the first moon landing.
When we asked whether or not teachers knew Artemis ll they all knew small pieces of information about the mission and they all did believe that the mission was a great use of tax money and was successful.
We asked them if they hoped that next time NASA sends a rocket it’ll land on the moon. They all said that it would be amazing if they did because learning more about space is amazing and super important since we are using many of earth’s resources.
Mr. Byington is also a 6th and 7th grade science teacher here at Iselin Middle School (IMS). He has been teaching science for the past 7 years here at this school and helps out other science teachers as a second teacher.
Byington stated, “I think it’s pretty amazing from a science perspective, like continuing to push human development and growth. So I think that’s pretty amazing,”
Ms. Cruz is a 7th grade science teacher at Iselin Middle School (IMS). She has been teaching science at IMS for 15 years now and enjoys teaching science to her students at this school.
Cruz stated, “I think that it’s important and amazing to kind of see what’s out there and what resources are out there and what our next steps are because there is so much left to explore and so many avenues in which we can move forward in the future.”
Mr. Brown is a 6th and 7th grade science teacher at Iselin Middle School (IMS). He has been a teacher at IMS for 7 years now and most of his students enjoy having his class and would like to have him next year.
Brown stated, “It’s the first time in a very long time they went to go around the moon. Which is important because our planet is getting smaller each day and we keep using many resources.”
Artemis ll’s mission took 9 days to complete which was faster than most missions so when we asked their opinions on whether it was quick or not they all believed that since this was a specific mission the time it took seemed fair.
