When most people enter middle school, the hardest part is staying organized. Binders and folders play a major role in that. But teachers require different things so it can be hard to carry all of it. Binders vary a lot, and can have pencil cases, folders, and rings in them. Folders are light, cheap, and you need quite a few of them.
A lot of people who love organization use these massive, heavy, convenient binders. They sometimes are rings that can only carry paper with three holes in it. Others have folders and pencil cases in them. Only ring binders can’t compete with folders, so that only leaves the all in one binders, and folders to compete with folders.
“I require a binder with tabs for different parts of class,” said math teacher Mr. Vincent Romano.
Folders are requested by almost every teacher, excluding gym. They are normally two pockets, and a simple, easy way to hold a fairly large amount of paper. Nearly every folder is cheap and easy to label. They take up little space in a locker and some can even go in binders, but because of that only non-hole folders will be focused on.
The problem with all-in-one binders is how they are huge. Many can’t fit in lockers. Few can fit in under desk storage. The pencil cases in them are also normally very small, and opening the massive builder for a pencil can be very annoying. On top of that, binders are very hard to organize and keep organized, taking precious time.
Binders are good in many ways. If you have two classes far away from each other it can come in handy by saving a lot of time not going to your locker. Also It is helpful walking around because if you drop it, papers won’t fly everywhere.
“I just think binders are more useful and universal, they could serve a lot of different purposes, a folder is relatively more simple and it could store papers in one section,” said Romano
Folders on the other hand are flimsy, hard to carry, and you need many of them. Going to your locker with many folders can be a pain. And dropping them all over the floor on your way to class is the worst. Also the flimsy folders bend all over when you are running to a class because you’re almost late.
On the other hand though they are cheap and easy to sort into larger desks at home. They can be perfect for quickly storing papers. Also folders are incredibly cheap. They as well can also hold papers without the three holes. Folders are so good that many binders have built-in ones.
In conclusion, binders and folders are quite different and both are necessary for the best organization. While many people will have their own opinions, they are just opinions. These are the reasons for it and everyone can agree and disagree about this.
