Drake is an extremely popular Canadian singer and songwriter; especially among his younger audience. But there are many things that you might not know about Drake.
Drake’s full name is Aubrey Drake Graham and he was born on October 24, 1986. Drake grew up in Toronto, Ontario, splitting his time between the working-class neighborhood of Weston Road and later the more affluent Forest Hill. After his parents divorced, he also spent summers with his father in Memphis, Tennessee.
Aubrey Drake launched his highly successful music career with mix-tapes like “So Far Gone” (2009) and the number-one debut album “Thank Me Later” (2010).
He is known for a style that blends R&B and hip-hop.
He’s one of the best-selling and most-awarded musical artists, holding numerous streaming and chart records.
Drake has also won multiple Grammy Awards and holds a record for the most Hot 100 hits among any artist. He is the highest-certified digital singles in the U.S. and was the most-streamed artist in the 2010s.
We asked a seventh grade student, Giulianna Thompson what she thinks about Drake.
“He is a really good artist. I listen to him alot,” she said.
