Press:Do you enjoy teaching? Why?

Kyle Reed: Yes I do. Days are fun and everyday is something new. Students make it enjoyable so yeah I do.

Press: If you could have a different job what would it be and why?

Kyle Reed: Basketball player because it’s fun and it’s exercise.

Press: When did you start teaching?

Kyle Reed: My first year teaching was after college when I was a substitute in fall 2001.

Press: How long have you been teaching?

Kyle Reed: 24 years.

Press: Okay, we’re going to start moving on to questions outside school. Are you married?

Kyle Reed: Yes, her name is Holly.

Press: Do you have any children?

Kyle Reed: Yes, Jace is 15 and Parker is 13 .

Press: Do you have any hobbies?

Kyle Reed: Yeah, I like to exercise. And watch my boys play sports.

Press: Do you like sports? If so what’s your favorite sport?

Kyle Reed: Yeah basketball is my favorite. I played in high school and I played in college. Sometimes I play before school.

Press: Why do you like that sport and have you ever played on any professional team?

Kyle Reed: I like it because it’s fun and no I have not played on a professional team.

Press: Last question: Did you work at any other school before this?

Kyle Reed: Ross Street School 11.

Sophia Casasola is a student at IMS. She just moved to Iselin with her mom and siblings, Isabella, Tommy, Adam and Michael. Casasola grew up in Woodbridge, NJ and went to WMS. Casasola’s hobbies are poetry, writing stories and discovering new places and people. Even though she loves exploring and meeting new people she also loves staying inside and listening to music. Casasola likes rock, volleyball, the Yankees and sleeping.

Mann Patel, Reporter

Mann Patel is a student who relishes soccer and basketball. Patel goes to Iselin Middle School. Patel is currently 12 years old and he also enjoys sports. Patel has an older brother that is currently 15 years old. His brother is officially in JFK High School. His hobbies are reading, karate, going outside, and drawing. Patel’s favorite teams are Real Madrid and the Lakers. His favorite players are Neymar and Lebron. Patel’s favorite board games are Uno, Tic Tac Toe, and Connect 4. Patel was in track for 4th and 5th grade for the relay team winning 2 matches and receiving a medal. Patel’s favorite subject is math.

Zain Islam

Zain Islam is an 11-year-old sixth grader in IMS. He lives near IMS with his parents and his two siblings, Inaya and Aakif. Zain was born in Jersey City and lived there until he was in second grade. His family moved to Iselin in 2021, where he completed his elementary education in Indiana Avenue School. Islam loves to play and watch soccer. His favorite team is Real Madrid. Islam’s favorite hobbies include soccer, gaming, playing board games with his family, and drawing. His favorite players from Real Madrid include Jude Bellingham, Vini Junior, Kroos, Arda Guler, Mbappe, and Ronaldo.

Felix Perez is an 8th-grade student at IMS. He lives in Iselin with his family, including his brother, two sisters, and mom. Perez grew up in New Brunswick, NJ where his mom was living before she moved. Perez Likes to learn new things about anything that comes to his mind. Perez likes to play video games like Call of Duty, Roblox, Pixel Gun 3d, and Blood Strike. Even if Perez tries hard to solve his problems, he still loves to have fun with his best friends at school, not letting the problem get to him. He also enjoys reading or listening to music. He doesn’t let anything get in his way.
