Mr. Druquer is one of the football coaches at JFK High School. Mr. Druquer said Richie Trotman was the QB, he did a great job, he was honored as an all-conference player. He also helped Grant Lorentzen break a New Jersey State Record.
Mr. Druquer loves football and he said, “Football is one of the greatest sports on earth.”
He loves coaching his team, he loves being around the guys and he loves seeing player growth and the enjoyment of them playing football.
Mr. Druquer was hired in the summer to join the coaching staff.
In regards to coaching, Mr. Druquer said, “It is difficult but that’s like everything else. If something is easy that means it’s not worth doing so it’s definitely difficult.”
Mr. Druquer was really never nervous when he gave his first speech to the team and he really knew the guys and they were always nice to him.
Mr. Druquer handles his players if they don’t behave or have bad behavior by talking to them privately or just showing them some tough love.
He absolutely lets them celebrate after a touchdown and loves it as long as they don’t get a penalty for celebrating. But the actual celebration is after the game and a win.
Mr. DRUCQUER said he really never argues with the referees or he tries not to because it’s not really his job. It’s the head coach’s job to do that.
Mr. DRUCQUER doesn’t really get mad. He said if the players keep making the same mistakes over and over then he will get frustrated.
Mr. DRUCQUER is not the head coach of the team, the head coach was Coach Henderson over at JFK. Then coach Magan who is on the o-line and Mr. DRUCQUER coached the wide receivers and the defensive backs.
“It takes an army to coach a team,” DRUCQUER said.
Mr. DRUCQUER played football for 12 years, he started playing peewee football at the age of 10 and he played through high school. He played all different levels of football like freshman, Jv, and also Varsity football.
