Manuel Beato is a student here at Iselin Middle School who started playing basketball at 5 years old when he first picked up a basketball he never stopped.
Beato used to play football for the Broncos 5u team. He then decided it wasn’t for him and switched sports. Since that day he decided his new dream was to be a NBA player.
Ever since Beato picked up a basketball, he fell in love and that’s all he thinks about. Beato likes to work hard and get better everyday.
He doesn’t have a favorite team but likes to watch any NBA game to learn from the pros.
“I don’t have one, I just like to watch the NBA,” Beato said.
Beato played his first game of organized basketball at 10 years old. This was his first time in a basketball game.
“I felt nervous and pressured,” Beato said. Beato’s first basket in the game was a layup.
He felt relieved and proud of himself. Beato’s dream is to be an NBA player, and now he’s working harder than ever to achieve that dream. He knows there are hundreds of kids in the world the same age as him trying to achieve that same dream.
So now he has an undying passion to be one that makes it to the NBA. The NBA stands for the National Basketball Association. People say that people who make the NBA are the best basketball players in the world.
So, Beato wants to be one of them. Beato plans to make the JV team in high school then move up to varsity and then go to Rutgers to play college basketball then make the NBA by 2032.
He knows it’s not easy and many people have the same dream as him. Beato doesn’t want that dream to stay a dream forever, which is why he can’t stop working towards it.
Beato has a lot of idols he looks up to but one of them is Micheal Jordan. Beato says he wants to be like him and wants the same work ethic as Jordan.
He wants to be just like him and he wants to win the same number of championships as Jordan. Beato doesn’t want to be an unknown human being forever.
Instead he wants to be the person that everybody calls the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time). Manny has an undying passion, so the work doesn’t stop here.
