Ramadan is a holy and sacred month for muslims around the world. It is a time of peace and focusing on yourself. During this time, muslims fast and go to the mosque a lot. Muslims fast from dawn to dusk. They wake up and eat a meal before praying.
A day-in-the-life of a muslim during Ramadan, consists of waking up and eating a meal before dawn called Suhoor. After that they hear the call to the first prayer of the day. After they pray they can go to sleep, or they read the Qur’an. The Qur’an is what muslims believe to be a divine revelation. Muslims have preserved it for years, they believe that it is the direct words of God. After they fast and it is dusk, they break their fast and eat. Afterwards, they have another prayer. Then after about an hour muslims rush into the mosque ready to pray for about 2 hours.
It may seem hard to stay focused during school. But afterwards you are left with a clear mind and you also feel great. Scientists proved how good fasting is because your body gets rid of its waste and it is a great way to lose weight.
Muslims should also be mindful of what they say. Not just for Ramadan but their whole lifestyle. They must be gentle and compassionate. They may not curse or do anything of that sort.
Ramadan shows muslims self-discipline and Ramadan really proves you’re in control of your own habits. Whether or not you choose to be consistent with your fasts is on you. But it is required or mandatory in Islam. There is an exception, people who are old, sick, or travelling, do not have to fast.
Ramadan is a month filled with reflections and blessings. Billions of muslims around the world focus during this holy month. But they should do the actions they do in Ramadan throughout their lives.
