Mr. Vizian is a passionate teacher who teaches 8th grade science who shared his time and experience for an interview on what it’s like to be a science teacher in Iselin Middle School.
His love for science started when he was a kid. He loved going outside and loved experiencing nature. He explained that his favorite branch of science is called Botany which is the study of plants and he also likes taking care of his garden.
He said, “I like looking at the structure of the plants, how it grows, the roots and photosynthesis.”
He said that he and his class are learning about Pangaea and are making a poster about it.
In his free time he likes to hang out with his wife, take drives, go to dinner, and work on his garden.
Him and his 8th grade class might have a chance on doing a folded volcano project. He also would teach botany, the science of plants. Growing up he didn’t really have a science role model but he watched a lot of Bill Nye who was a scientist in a show called “Bill Nye, The Science Guy” who taught about science which was his role model because that’s where he learned about botany and science.
His favorite episode in the series was the Momentum episode which is about momentum. He said “that was a good episode.”
He and his students will be doing a volcano project with his students. It’s a folder of the types of volcanoes and the types of lava that come out of it.
Knowing that he likes botany we asked him about what flowers he likes. He said his favorite flowers are Dahlias.
