Mr. Vazquez is a band teacher at IMS. He is a great teacher. He is always encouraging us to keep doing good. In the beginning of the year I could not play some notes but everyday Mr. V would practice with me and 2 weeks later I did it. He is truly a great band teacher.

Panther Press: What is your favorite piece for this upcoming band concert?
Mr. Vazquez: I like “Kingdom of Hearts” the most.
Panther Press: Which is your favorite grade in this school?
Mr. Vazquez: I like 6th and 8th grade the most because 8th graders are really good and 6th graders are really funny.
Panther Press: Do you think we are ready for the band concert?
Mr. Vazquez: Yes indeed. We are doing really well in the rehearsals.
Panther Press: What do we need to work on the most in Lion’s Pride?
Mr. Vazquez: Staying with me.
Panther Press: Which grade improved the most throughout the year?
Mr. Vazquez: 7th grade because they were very rough at first but now they are a lot better.
Panther Press: What is your favorite instrument?
Mr. Vazquez: Percussion!!!
Panther Press: As a school, how do you think we do in a band?
Mr. Vazquez: Great! You guys sound amazing.
Panther Press: Do you like winter concerts or spring concerts more?
Mr. Vazquez: Definitely spring concerts because we have more time to practice.
Panther Press: Why did you choose to become a band teacher?
Mr. Vazquez: I started a band at age 16 but no one recruited me but I really wanted to become a band teacher.
Panther Press: Why don’t you let students touch your door?
Mr. Vazquez: One time I let a student touch my door and he left two minutes before the bell and he got written up.
