Teaching math can be challenging or simple, depending on your teaching methods and how students learn.
Math can be difficult because some students may require additional help to understand it and due to misconceptions. Mrs. Brassler, however, is a math teacher at IMS (Iselin Middle School). Panther Press: Do you think it may be easier for students to understand math through how you teach?
Mrs. Brassler: I hope so. At least some of the students.

Mrs. Brassler: It’s not something I always wanted to do. But when I became a teacher, when I first taught in elementary school then I realized math was my favorite subject.

Mrs. Brassler: Students always become distracted, I would say.
Panther Press: Do you think it was worth it to start teaching math?
Mrs. Brassler: Oh yeah! Because I mean that’s the subject that a lot of time kids don’t like so I try to make them like it more.

Mrs. Brassler: Yeah, my parents were teaching me math.

Mrs. Brassler: New teacher? If they were good at math, yeah. Yeah but I think they would really have to enjoy math if they want to do it all day long.
Panther Press: Does teaching math make you happier when you are not in a good mood?
Mrs. Brassler: Yeah, math definitely makes me happy. I just definitely like it. It makes me happy to think about it.
