Mrs. Dimeglio is a math teacher at Iselin Middle School. She thinks of amazing ideas for class and teaches very well. Her teaching is really good because she makes these foldables just in case we forget a topic. She is a fun teacher too because she lets us play Gimkit every Friday!
Panther Press:`What is your name?
Mrs. Dimeglio: Brittany Dimeglio.
Panther Press: Why did you become a math teacher?
Mrs. Dimeglio: I had really great math teachers when I was in school and I really connected well with them.
Panther Press: What made you choose 6th grade out of all the grades?
Mrs. Dimeglio: I like to have fun and laugh with them. The older kids think they’re too old.
Panther Press: What is your favorite class period?
Mrs. Dimeglio: I love them all!
Panther Press: Is your favorite subject math?
Mrs. Dimeglio: Yes it is.
Panther Press: Did you teach any grades before 6th grade?
Mrs Dimeglio: Yes I have taught 7th and 8th grade and I taught algebra 1 which is a high school course.
Panther Press: How were your classes improvements from the beginning of the year to the end of the year?
Mrs. Dimeglio: As time has passed they know if I tell them things they will follow through.
Panther Press: How many years have you been a math teacher?
Mrs. Dimeglio: 16 years!
Panther Press: How do you get the ideas of the things we do in class?
Mrs. Dimeglio: I get ideas from the things I watch online and I tweak them based on what the students’ needs are. For example the project we did “Two truths and a Lie.”
Panther Press: What is your favorite topic we learned this year?
Mrs. Dimeglio: Rates and unit rates because I think we need them the most in other grades.
Panther Press:Do you dislike calculators?
Mrs. Dimeglio: I don’t dislike them, I just don’t like to use them too often so students can learn.
Panther Press: Thank you for your time!
Mrs. Dimeglio: Of course!
